Glenn A. Dinkel Jr.

Glenn A. Dinkel, Jr., 70, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 23 in Sioux City, Iowa.

            Glenn was born May 27, 1953, in Sioux City to Glenn Dinkel Sr. and Alberta (Englemann) Dinkel. Glenn graduated from East High School in 1972, worked for his father’s tree-trimming service, the City of Sioux City, and had a long career in truck driving before an accident led to his retirement. He was a model train and Corvette enthusiast and enjoyed country dancing, RC vehicles and slot cars, and grilling and cooking for his family. He had a wry sense of humor and will be missed by those who knew him.

            He is survived by his wife, Lyn Dell Dinkel, of Sioux City; a brother Kevin Dinkel and his wife Diane of Golden, CO; a sister Linda and her husband Jim Bowen of Cummings, GA; his former wife Bertha and their three daughters Stephanie Ruhrer of Sioux City, Jamie and her husband Bobby Williams of Lead, SD, and Sheena and her husband Martez Van Buren of Sioux City; stepdaughter Ann (Terry) Ross of Creston, IA; stepson Jon (Stacey) Lindsay of Sioux City; stepdaughter Megan Cook of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Tyler (Jalin), Trevor (Reese), Brayah (Tony), Ashleigh (Hailey), Devon, Cade, Mashia, Ataviah, ZaRyiah, Kristin (Taylor), Jeff, Aaron, James, Elliott, and Max; and great grandchildren Natalia, Gian, Veeyah, Mila, Mylez, Haisley, Lorenzo, Mason, Owen, Kayden, Alec, and Parker.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Dinkel.

Abiding Glenn’s wishes, graveside services were held for a private family internment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Funeral Homes assisted the family with preparations.
