Glenda Jean Ellis

Glenda Jean Ellis 71, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Sunrise Retirement Community, where she was surrounded by life-long and close friends. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held later in the year.

Glenda was born in Sioux City on August 5, 1951 to John Ellis and Francine Petrositch. She was the oldest of six siblings. She graduated from Heelan High School and worked at Red Onion, National Optical Wholesalers, Boulevard food store and went on to retire from Mercy Medical as a switch board operator. Glenda was a daughter, a sister, a great friend and an awesome aunt. She loved her only niece and eight nephews so much! She was the life of the party with her witchy laugh and great sense of humor. You would never catch Glenda frowning, always smiling, telling a joke or making you laugh because she was a very funny person. She loved blues music, classic cars and sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved crafting and made the best door wreaths. A celebration of life will be set for a future date

Glenda is survived by her siblings; Carol Ellis (Sioux City), Janet Johnson (Austin, Texas), Deana Nolan (Philadelphia), Danny (Janice) Ellis (Austin, Texas), Rhonda (Mark) Davis (Philadelphia). Her nephews and niece and many cousins.

She is preceded into death by her parents, John and Francine Ellis.
