Geraldine "Jerri" Brown Bates

   Geraldine “Jerri” Brown Bates, 93, of Sun City West, AZ formerly of Sioux City, IA and Pender, NE died on Saturday, August 8, 2020 after a five year battle with Alzheimer's at Brookdale Camino Del Sol in Sun City West.

   Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.  The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.).

   Geraldine “Jerri”, the daughter of Millard and Ethel (Bentz) Tuttle was born March 6, 1927 in Pender, NE.

   Jerri was united in marriage to Fred Brown on September 14, 1946 in Pender and this union was blessed with two daughters.  Jerri made her home in Sioux City for most of her life and was a homemaker.  Fred died November of 1990.

   In August of 1992, Jerri married Bill Bates in Sioux City.  After their marriage, they moved to Sun City, AZ.  Bill died on February 2, 2016.

   Jerri was a member and teacher at Church of the Nazarene.  Over the years, she enjoyed coffee time with friends.

   She is survived by two daughters: Sue Brown Wikstrom and husband Gary of Gardner, KS and Jeannie Brown Patterson and husband Brian of Peoria, AZ; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Fred Brown and Bill Bates; and three brothers: Bob, Gale and Dale Tuttle.
