He was a history buff, and could often be found reading about the people and events that shaped our world. Whether through conversation, laughter, or just being present, Jerry valued the relationships he built throughout his life.

Although they later divorced, they remained connected throughout their lives and shared family blessings with their two children (Jeff and Jodi) as well as many grandchildren. Jerry was also later married to Terri Sharp of Sioux City, but later divorced.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jodi Heineman and son-in-law Kevin Heineman, of Sergeant Bluff, IA; five grandchildren, Tiffany Trusty (Colin), Pamela Camarillo (Alfonso), Taylor Sheard, Tyler ‘TJ’ Heineman, and Hayley Heineman; as well as four great-grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by his siblings, Timothy Schultz, David Schultz, and Lisa Smith, and many extended family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John & Jean (Harrington) Schultz; brother, John ‘Jack’ Schultz, and a son, Jeffery ‘Jeff’ Schultz. Jerry will be remembered for his knowledge of all things, appreciation of history and the outdoors, willingness to help others, and love for his family. His memory will live on in the stories shared by those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
