Georgia was born July 22, 1963, in Sioux City, the daughter of Henry and Maxine (Herrity) Grubel.  She graduated from East High School in 1981 and attended the University of South Dakota, then Stewart’s School of Beauty.  Following her education Georgia worked at Regis Salon in Sioux City for several years.  She married Eric Grau on September 26, 1987, at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska.  Once the couple started a family, Georgia stayed home with her children, Riley and Thomas.  When they were school age, Georgia returned to work as a “lunch lady” at East High School for seven years.

Georgia liked to read and would spend hours drinking her Diet Coke perusing the entire newspaper.  She loved relaxing at their camper in Spirit Lake, IA and made many friends there over the years.  Georgia always loved the big family vacations to Blanche Lake in Minnesota, soaking up the sun, playing games, and entertaining everyone with her goofy sense of humor.  Georgia also enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include her husband Eric Grau of Sioux City; daughter Riley Grau of Sioux City; son Thomas Grau of Sioux City; beloved grandchildren Laythm and Kinslee Biederman; sisters:  Glenda (Jeff) Davis of Sioux City, Lisa (Mike) Chesher of Sgt. Bluff, IA, and Kim (Troy) Dake of Sioux City; mother-in-law:  Susie Grau of Florida; brothers-in-law, Doug Grau, Matt (Laurie) Grau, and Dave (Jill) Tompkins; sister-in-law Rachelle (Vic) Campbell, and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, father-in-law Tom Grau, and other extended family members.
