George Edward Boeshart, 64, of Ponca, Nebraska passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 after battling cancer.Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca with Father David Liewer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary at South Creek Cemetery in rural Ponca. Visitation with the family present will begin at 6:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the church. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.George was born on August 9, 1945 in Ponca, NE to Earl and Bernice (Casey) Boeshart. He graduated from Ponca High School in 1963. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1969. He was a 1st lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1981 with honorable discharge. He recently enjoyed an honor flight with active service members.He married Ruthie Lamprecht on May 28, 1969 in Ponca, NE. He was employed with Zenith from 1972 to 1980. From 1980 to 1988 he worked for Load King in Elk Point, South Dakota. George boated across the river from the Ponca State Park to the South Dakota side where he kept his truck for his commute to Load King. From 1988 until the time of his death George worked with his brother, Pat at Liteform.George had a love for his family, construction, golfing, deer hunting, riding horses, dogs, being outdoors, and cutting wood. One of George's trademarks was his old brown cowboy hat.George is survived by his wife, Ruthie of Ponca, NE; his son, Brian and Shannon of Wakefield, NE; his daughter, Becky and Mike Walters of Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren, Tori, Cody, Zachary, Drew, Luke and Jake; his mother, Bernice Boeshart of Sioux City, IA; brothers, Pat and Sandy Boeshart of Sioux City, IA, Paul and Linda Boeshart of Lincoln, NE, Larry and Sandy Boeshart of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Janie and Jim Dutler of Sioux City, IA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Boeshart; brother-in-law, John Golden; nephew, Kevin Rush; and "cousin uncle" Phil Boeshart.
