Geneva F. "Genie" Miller

November 4, 1924 — April 20, 2023

     Geneva F. Miller, 98, of Sioux City died peacefully with her family by her side April 20, 2023 in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April, 25, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend Kristine Stedje officiating.  Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior at the funeral home.  Refreshments will be offered afterwards, before a private family graveside at Graceland Park Cemetery.      Geneva was born November 4, 1924 in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Albert and Mae (Undine) Stoltz. She graduated from East High in January, 1943. She married Robert McGlauflin on April 12, 1947 in Omaha, NE. They had two children, Michael and Pamela.  They divorced in 1960. She married George Miller, Jr on September 18, 1984.

     Genie was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and worked many years at the Sioux City Stockyards and later as an account payables clerk at St. Luke's Medical Center, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. 

     Genie founded the Stockette organization at the Stockyards, belonged to the charter chapter of American Business Women's Association in 1954 and later the War Eagle chapter, Tri-T chapter A.C. and South Sioux City Fraternal Order of Eagles. She belonged to many card and bridge clubs. She also loved bingo and going to the casinos with George.

     George & Genie spent many years wintering in Harlingen, TX with many Sioux City friends.

Family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

     Survivors include a son, Michael (Becki) McGlauflin of Sioux City and a daughter Pam (Rick) Anderson of Sioux Center. Four step children, Jim (Kay) Miller of Minneapolis, MN, Diane (Bruce) Kingsbury of Ames, IA, Mike (Mary) Miller of Sioux City, Susan Dupree of Mesquite, TX. Grandchildren and great grandchildren, Corby (Nicole) McGlauflin & Cade, Eric McGlauflin, Travis (Brooke) McGlauflin & Pierce all of Sioux City. Melissa (Lewis) Hackbart & Lauren and Halsey of Sioux Center and Ryan Hulshof of Chicago. 12 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Miller, her sister, Fern, and son-in-law, Rod Hulshof.
