Gayle was born March 18, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to Donovan “Bud” Hugh and Izetta Marie Ferguson, the middle child of five children.  She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1960.  Gayle went on to marry C. Gayle worked outside of the home her entire adult life to help support her family.  She was employed at Tim Coil and Loop for many years, from there she moved to Berkley Industries where she worked for several additional years before finishing her career at Wal-Mart.  Gayle loved going to work every day, it wasn’t just a job for her, rather it was a way for her to socialize and see her “work friends”.

Gayle is survived by her husband C. Clark Kleinberg of South Sioux City, Nebraska; her son Randy and his wife Betsy of Lawton, Iowa; grandson Blake Kleinberg and his significant other Allegra Statema of Sioux City, Iowa; granddaughters  Baili Henri and her husband Steven of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Morgan Young and her husband Slade of Valley, Nebraska; great-grandchildren Aiden Henri, Nora Henri, and Grey Young; and brothers Doug Ferguson of Carlsbad, California, and Tom Ferguson and his wife Terri of Fresno, California.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeff Kleinberg, brothers Gary and Wayne Ferguson, sister-in-law Linda Ferguson (wife of Doug Ferguson), and niece Melissa Ferguson Johnson (daughter of Doug Ferguson).
