Gary Harold Hoesing

Gary Harold Hoesing, 70 of Pierson, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home, comforted by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Newcastle, Nebraska with Father Ken Hoesing as Celebrant. Burial will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery of Newcastle. Visitation, with family present, will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday before the Mass in the St. Peter’s Parish Hall in Newcastle. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Gary was born on June 22, 1954 in Hartington, Nebraska to Harold F. and Joyce A. (Ayling) Hoesing. Following his education, he began his work as a Kirby Vacuum Salesman in 1973 followed by selling motorcycles in Sioux City. From 1974 until 1978, Gary worked at the Sioux City Auto Body before moving to Bort Auto Body from 1978 until 2001. He was lucky to have loved every job he had, especially the dent work he has done for the last 25 years as Tri-State Dent, Inc. owner. Not only the work, but the people and friends he met in that industry. 

Gary married Lillian M. Beaumier on November 17, 1989 in Sioux City at the family’s home on West 29th Street. His greatest passions in life were his kids, grandkids (and teaching things to those grandkids), and visiting with anyone and everyone. Whether you knew him for a long time or just met, Gary would talk and talk until he got your whole life story. His favorite hobbies were karaoke, riding his motorcycle, or going to motorcycle or car shows (and races!). Gary enjoyed his MTE Expos every year to visit, golfing with friends, and traveling. He was truly the epitome of what God would like us all to be. An inspiration to everyone who knew him. 

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lillian of Pierson, Iowa; son Nick (Kim) Hoesing of Omaha, Nebraska, daughters Krystal K. Hoesing of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mareena Templeman of Cave Spring, Georgia; brothers Paul (Mary) Hoesing of Ponca, Nebraska, Mike (Lori) Hoesing of Sioux City, Iowa, and Rod (Kay) Hoesing of Newcastle, Nebraska; grandchildren Jacob Lee Albertsen, Dalton Jameson Templeman, Josie Grace Miller, and Jesse Ray Harold Hoesing.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
