Gail J. Burright

Gail J. Burright, age 88, of Tulsa, OK passed peacefully on Nov. 17, 2025. She was born on Dec. 3, 1936 in Sioux City, IA to Irvin and Bernice (Ferguson) Junck. Gail grew up on the family farm in Hinton, IA. She graduated from Hinton High School as Valedictorian in 1955. Her husband would jokingly say "She didn't have a lot of competition in a class of 14 students." On Oct. 29, 1955 she married Donald A. Burright. They spent their early years in Iowa before moving to Hastings, MN in 1971. After retiring from Wells Fargo, they enjoyed many years in Hot Springs Village, AR.

Gail was known for her beautiful smile and a heart full of love for her family and friends. Her faith in Jesus was incredibly strong. Gail’s harshest words used in anger were " Oh Fiddle Faddle". If you wanted to see her really angry, all you needed to do is kick a hole through the bathroom door.

Gail had many hobbies: jigsaw puzzles, reading, and cards (being a farm girl she knew many games). She also had an amazing talent for sewing and loved making custom drapes, theater costumes for plays, and quilts at her church.

Gail was preceded in death by: husband Don of 54 years, infant son Steven, son-in-law Jerr Berdan, brother Darryll Junck, sister Sue (Junck) Pansegrau, brother- and sister-in-law Doug and Jean Burright, and second husband Darwin Hettig.

Gail is survived by her children Jayna Berdan of Loretto, MN, Judee (Roger) Chilson of Broken Arrow, OK, Eric (Michelle) Burright of Eagan, MN, brother Neal (Colleen) Junck, brother-in-law Don Pansegrau, grandchildren Allyson (Garrett) Eischens, Korissa (Jeremy) Donner, Allissa Berdan, Katie (Matt) Warne, Haley Chilson, Isaac, Nicholas and Jack Burright, 7 great-grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Live Well Hospice team for their extraordinary care, compassion, and kindness. Their support was a true blessing.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, followed by memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Funeral Home located at 6200 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City, IA.
