Gabriel Ortega Jr.

Gabriel Ortega Jr., 26, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City with Father Anthony Weider celebrating the Mass.  Visitation was held the night prior at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery in South Sioux City.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Gabriel was born February 17, 1997, in Monterrey Park, CA, the son of Gabriel Ortega Sr. and Monica (Martinez) Alvarado.  Gabriel attended St. Michael’s Catholic School until 8th grade and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 2016.  Gabriel had a passion for cars and was a gifted mechanic.  He loved making hot sauce and family cookouts.  Gabriel was a kind hearted, humble, and gentle man who loved his son, Kyler, who was his pride and joy.

Survivors include his son: Kyler Ortega; Father and Stepmother Gabriel Ortega Sr. and Jackie Rojas; Mother and Stepfather: Monica and Pedro Alvarado siblings: Damian Ortega, Isaias Ortega, Gabriela Ortega (Nena), Samuel Ortega, Gianna Ortega, David (Lenny) Ortega Saul (Ricky) Ortega Isabel Alvarado, Damian Alvarado, Valeria Alvarado; Nephew: Liam Alvarado; Niece: Lehadi Alvarado; and many aunts and uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by Paternal Grandmother Julia Ortega And Cousin Crystal Flores.
