Frances Anna Caba

  Frances Anna Caba, 92, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at a local care facility. Per her wishes, Frances will be cremated. Since she loved family get togethers and family celebrations, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when all of her family and friends may be there. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery following the celebration. 

  Frances was born on August 24, 1930 in Sioux City, to Emil and Martha (Kay) Krambeck. She attended Central High School in Sioux City and was a bookkeeper for ShopKo for over 25 years in Sioux City.

  She married Gerald “Jerry” J. Caba on January 21, 1949 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Jerry passed away in June of 1988.

  Frances was a member of Nativity Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

  Survivors include her daughter, Jean Johnson (Walt); son, Jim Caba (Carol); brother, Dave Krambeck; daughter-in-law, Sherry Caba; grandchildren: Jen Edwards, Lindsey Thomas, and Michael Johnson; step-grandchildren: Molly Olson and Freddy Edwards; great-grandchildren: Reece and Mason Edwards, Aubrey and Adelyn Thomas, Juliane Caba, and Joey Caba; step-great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Zeke Olson, and Cassidy and Colton Edwards; two great-great-grandchildren: Alakai and Healani Caba; and many nieces and nephews who were all very, very special to her!

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Caba; son, Jeffery Caba; parents; brother, Marv Krambeck; brother, Alvin Krambeck; and a grandson, Joseph A. Caba.
