Faith Irene Olander

Faith Irene Olander, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 2025, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Faith was a faithful member of Buchanan Avenue Baptist Church for more than 20 years, which is who she called her family.

Faith was born on December 31, 1935, in Hammond, IN, to George and Beulah Huisenga. She held various jobs in her life, the last being making tire patches for Western States Manufacturing Company. Above all, Faith loved her Papa Jehovah, and always had her Amazing Love Gospel pamphlets at the ready to hand out to any and all she met. Faith loved all animals, but especially her cats. She had three special ones throughout her life: Oscar, Pepper, and Mau Mau.

Faith was preceded in death by her precious children, Robert and Catherine; her beloved husband, James Olander; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Buchanan Avenue Baptist Church in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
