Eva F. Kemp, 97 of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City passed away Friday, November 21, 2025. A funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eva was born the daughter of Pearl and Lavida (Armstrong) Denney on September 25, 1928 in Blencoe, Iowa. She graduated from Blencoe High School. Eva married Virgil Kemp on February 10, 1948 in Sioux City. Together they raised four children. Virgil passed away in 1985.
Eva worked for Wincharger and Johnson Biscuit Company. Then she sold home interior products and also rented VHS tapes and records for a while. Her last job was providing transportation, driving people to their appointments through Lutheran Social Services. She put on a lot of miles during that time and even won an award from Governor Branstad.
Eva enjoyed crocheting and doing needle point. She did crafty things like sewing dish towels and painting designs on them. She also loved reading old Western novels and in her later years she liked playing bingo and card games. She was great at making friends and visiting with people.
Eva is survived by her children, Melvin (Wanda) Kemp and Nancy (Royce) Sechrist; grandchildren, Brett, Bradley, Jason, Jeanette, Patrick, Ashley, and Cory; several great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Roxine Kemp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; children, Ken and Diane; and brothers, Cecil, Glenn, and Robert.
