Erin was born May 25, 1981 in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1999. Erin’s gentle giant Gabriel was welcomed in December 2007. Gabriel was the light of Erin’s life as her first born. Erin married Scott Terrault in April 2013, who passed away in 2019. Together they had two children, Elizabeth who was born in November 2010 and quickly became Erin’s little best friend. In July of 2012 Jace was born. He was truly the wild card of the family and made everyone so happy, much like his Momma.
Erin met the love of her life, Matthew Sheehan in April 2023. They had an instant connection and were married June 1, 2024. They made their home in Elk Point, South Dakota.
Erin held many odd jobs over the years, usually in sales. She spent several years with Gateway and also worked for KTIV, MCI, and Alorica just to name a few. In addition, she did lots of meaningful work for the Watchful Eye Foundation her mother founded.
Erin had many interests. She was a Marilyn Monroe inspired pinup girl, a huge fan of car shows, and a great cook. She also liked music, recently Christian and Country, and enjoyed looking for treasure at thrift shops. She loved to dance and sing. She loved to laugh and make others laugh, especially when they were feeling down. She loved to sit down and have a meal with her favorite people and catch up on life. She loved to be carefree and live in the moment. Erin was and always will be remembered for her beautiful smile, soul, and spirit.
Erin was baptized in November of 2023 after reconnecting with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From those moments on, her connection with Him placed comfort in her heart which helped her fight through this last year of loss and hurt by giving her love and happiness with her family.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a fighter. She fought more than anyone can imagine with a long list of health problems, but no matter her pain, she always had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye.
Erin is survived by her husband, Matthew Sheehan; children, Gabriel and Elizabeth; stepdaughter, Peyton; siblings, Raquel (Mark) Oatman, Roshelle (Jay) Choate, and Melinda (Dallas) McGlasson; stepfather, Ricardo Munoz; and several nieces and nephews.
