Erika Lyn Pasko, 58, of Sioux City, a beloved wife, mom, grandma, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous and lengthy battle with ALS.

Per Erika’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Born on November 26, 1967, in Selma, Alabama, the daughter of Larry and Kathy (Ricketson) Schlinker, Erika's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and a passion for the beauty surrounding her.

Growing up in a military family, Erika moved often, eventually graduating from high school in Charleston, South Carolina. Her adventurous spirit and adaptability led her to discover her passion for floral design, where she thrived at Michaels, bringing joy to countless customers through her artistry. In addition to her creative pursuits, Erika also made her mark as an insurance agent for State Farm, showcasing her talent for nurturing relationships and providing support to those around her.

Erika's heart was deeply rooted in the outdoors. She found immense joy in gardening and feeding the wildlife that frequented her home, creating a sanctuary where nature flourished. An avid reader and lover of music and movies, she enjoyed indulging in stories that transported her to different worlds. However, it was the time spent with her family that brought her the greatest happiness. Whether gathered around a meal or creating memories through laughter, Erika cherished each moment with her loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Pasko, whose love and support were her anchor throughout life’s journeys. Erika's legacy continues through her children: Michael Schlinker, Ashley Pasko, and Nick Pasko, all of Sioux City, who carry forward her spirit and values. She delighted in the joy of being a grandmother to Oliver Husted. Erika’s sisters, Karin (Chris) Jackson and Tia (Fred) Schreiber, also remain, holding dear the memories of their time spent together and the love they shared.

Erika was preceded in death by her father, Larry Schlinker.

As we remember Erika, we celebrate the profound impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and zest for life will forever be cherished in our hearts.
