Eric J. Stolpe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 19, 2025. Born on May 14, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, Eric lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

Eric proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty left an indelible mark on his character and shaped his values throughout life. After returning home, he shared his talents and skills through dedicated work at Prince Hydraulics and the Woodbury County Courthouse, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and contributed significantly to his community.

Family was the cornerstone of Eric's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Rheinola, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they created cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of loved ones. Eric’s daughter, Erica Bowman, and her husband, Jason, have continued the family legacy, along with Eric's stepsons, David Buss of Ashton, IA, and Daniel and Timothy Buss of Sioux City, IA. He was also the proud grandfather of ten, whose lives he embraced with joy, providing guidance, laughter, and unwavering support.

Eric is remembered by his dear brother, Lloyd Stolpe, and his wife, Dolores, both of Sioux City, Iowa. Family gatherings were often filled with laughter and stories, highlighting the bond that Eric cherished with those around him.

Eric’s legacy is also carried in spirit by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and four daughters who he lost in infancy, Rose Theresa, Carol Ann, Katie Ann and Brettley Stolpe. Their memories remained close to his heart, guiding him in his journey through life.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Eric’s life and legacy on September 26, 2025, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, Iowa. The visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by military honors at 6:00 PM and a memorial service will take place at 7:00 PM to honor the profound impact he had on so many.

As we remember Eric J. Stolpe, we reflect on a life well-lived, filled with love for family, a dedication to service, and a spirit that touched all fortunate to have known him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
