Homer

Emma Anne Kile-Gorman, 16 of rural Homer, Nebraska passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 from injuries sustained in a UTV accident. A celebration of her life will be held at the Homer School on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with family reflections at 7:00 P.M. Her family welcomes all of Emma’s community to attend.

Emma was born November 14, 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Homer School where she was active in choir, One Act, and spent a great deal of her time doing things with 4H. She was the voice of change and a fierce protector of her friends and family. Emma was a beautiful old soul with a truly bright spirit.

Emma had endless interests; she was a bit ahead of her time and tended to enjoy “grandma hobbies” like baking, thrifting and listening to old 40s music. Over years of following her mama in the kitchen, she mastered cooking and had a brilliant imagination when it came to her culinary creations. She also loved nature and cared deeply for animals; she was always the first to step up when there was an animal in need of help.

Emma had a sense of selfless kindness about her that the world needs more of. She often gave her time and resources to help friends and classmates in need. Whether it was a few bucks for food or advocating for them or even creating and distributing kindness baskets, Emma always delivered.

She will forever be remembered for her huge heart, her sassy spirit and her ability to make anyone smile, especially when they needed it most. She was one of a kind, an original work of art and the very essence of a wildflower growing wild and free. Her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.

Emma is survived by her mother, Annie; her sisters, Lola, Sadie and Caroline; and her baby brother, Oliver.
