Emma M. Hoesing

September 14, 1924 — March 4, 2023

Emma M. Hoesing, 98, of Newcastle, NE passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at a South Sioux City care center.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, Nebraska with Reverend Martin Hill officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. all at the church.  Burial will be at Ponca City Cemetery in Ponca, NE.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Emma was born on September 14, 1924 in Jackson, NE, a twin daughter born to Reinald and Bertha (Rutchinski.) Pansegrau.  The family moved to Ponca, NE when Emma was five years old and her parents farmed in the area for many years.  She graduated from Ponca High School in 1942.  Emma worked at the Tollers Drug Store in Sioux City, IA and the Katz Drug Store in Oklahoma City, OK.  She married Richard Hoesing on August 29, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK.  Richard was in the Aviation Mechanics School while in the Navy, stationed in Norman, OK.  Emma was the quintessential farm wife and loved helping around the farm and business.  Emma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children:  Leroy Hoesing of Newcastle, NE, Paula (Gary) Bender of Sioux City, Patricia Raines of Prescott, AZ, Warren (Glenda) Hoesing of North Sioux City, SD, and Rhonda (Kenny) Kuchta of Hartington, NE; daughter-in-law:  Anne Hoesing of Jackson, NE; 17 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, son Howard Hoesing, daughter-in-law Helen Hoesing, and four siblings:    Margaret Overson, Herold Pansegrau, Ernest Pansegrau and twin sister Anna Jabo.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, NE in Emma’s Memory.
