Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Sampson, our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, and friend passed away in her home on March 27, 2024 peacefully and surrounded by loving family and friends. Betty was 93 years young.
Betty was born on December 31, 1930 in Vermillion, SD to Leo and Josephine “Melancon” Richer. She married William Sampson, Jr. (Bill) on April 7, 1947. They were married for 37 years before William passed away in 1984. Seven children were born to this marriage. Betty was strong in her faith, and a parishioner of St. Boniface for over 50 years. Betty enjoyed working in her garden of flowers at her home as well as creating beautiful flower arrangements for her children’s weddings. She loved to sew and made not only clothes for her growing children in her younger years, but she made beautiful dresses which were donated to children in Nigeria.
Betty was a tried-and-true Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching games with her family. Betty also loved spending time at her lakeside home and fishing.
She loved her family with great compassion and was always there whenever you needed her. She simply made this world a better place.
