Eileen M. Sardeson, 90, of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at a Sioux City Retirement Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Eileen was born on May 30, 1934, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ottilia (Schleimer) Erlemeier. Eileen's educational journey took her through Danbury School, St. Joseph Catholic School, and Bishop Heelan High School. She married Eugene M. Sardeson Sr. on June 10, 1950, in Dakota City, NE. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1996. Eileen had a fulfilling career, beginning at Windcharger, followed by a retirement from Zenith, and culminating in a dedicated 19 years at Dollar Tree. Eileen was known for her warmth and friendliness, which resonated throughout her professional life as she enjoyed meeting new people.

Her commitment to community and faith was evident through her active participation as a member of the Eagles and Holy Cross - St. Michael's Catholic Church, as well as volunteering at Queen of Peace. Beyond her professional endeavors, Eileen had a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. She cherished crafts, took pleasure in caring for her yard, and found joy in feeding the orioles, deer, and turkeys that frequented her home.

She is survived by her son, Gene (Marsha) Sardeson of Sioux City; her daughter, Eileen (Pat) Snyder of Fort Smith, AR; her grandchildren, Randy (fiancé Anna) Snyder, Nicole (John) Sontchi, Stacie (Aaron) Jenkins, and Patrick (Angie) Snyder; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ottilia Erlemeier; her husband, Eugene M. Sardeson Sr.; her brother, Eugene Erlemeier; and her sister, Lorene Haire.
