Edward F. Hickson, Jr.

Edward F. Hickson, Jr., 81 of Sergeant Bluff passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ed was born the son of Edward F. and Mary (Simon) Hickson, Sr. on November 9, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from East High School in 1962.

Ed started his career working for Miller Kidder Truck Dept on West 7th in Sioux City as a service technician and then went into the parts department. He completed training as an Iowa DOT new construction inspector in 1967 where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Ed and his brother, Ted also established and operated Bluffs Golf Cars, an EZGo dealership, for several years in Sergeant Bluff.

Ed was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed collecting, restoring, and building classic and collector cars. He was involved in the annual Chevy Fest car show and never missed a show with his cars for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Sioux City Strollers car club and loved participating in the Wednesday night cruises and their other events. He enjoyed traveling around the country on vacation to see family and friends and always looked forward to attending the Hickson family reunion.

Ed is survived by his brother, Ted (Joyce) Hickson of Sergeant Bluff; nephews, Eric McCoy, Ryan McCoy, Tyler Hickson, and Shane Hickson; niece, Larissa Hickson; great nephews, Jase Stephens, Nolan McCoy, and Kamden Hickson; great nieces, Hailea McCoy, Maddy McCoy, and Aaralyn Hickson; and his loyal chocolate lab, Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
