Douglas D. Berg

Douglas D. Berg, 63 of North Sioux City, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Doug was born the son of Jack Berg and Doris Trudell on September 9, 1960 in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in South Sioux and graduated from Homer High School. Doug married Jamie McKenna on August 14, 2004. They made their home in North Sioux City where Doug was a member of the city council. 

Doug worked for MCI and Gateway for several years before ending his career at Lincare. 

He enjoyed water, whether he was on the river or lounging by the pool with his family. He was a huge Husker fan and also enjoyed bowling and playing pool.

The family requests you wear your Husker gear to the service in honor of Doug. 

Doug is survived by his wife, Jamie Berg of North Sioux City, South Dakota; children, Jacob (Alena) White of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Shana Berg of North Sioux City, South Dakota, McKayla Berg of Portland, Oregon, Anthony Berg of North Sioux City, South Dakota, and Winter Goodwin of Sioux City, Iowa; father, Jack Berg of Jackson, Nebraska; brother, Darin (Kelly) Berg of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and granddaughter, Stephanie. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris.
