Dorothy "Dotty" Mae Sprinkle, 79, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Correctionville Specialty Care in Correctionville, Iowa.

A graveside service celebrating Dotty's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Hastings Cemetery in Hastings, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Dorothy "Dotty," the daughter of Floyd and Nadine (Wood) Starr, was born on January 4, 1947, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up in the Glenwood and Hastings, Iowa, area. At the age of 18, Dotty moved to Sioux City, where she made her home for the remainder of her life. During her younger years, she worked for Goodwill Industries.

Dotty had a joyful spirit and truly enjoyed life. She had a unique way of making others smile and laugh through her genuine honesty and kindhearted nature. She touched many lives simply by being herself. Some of her fondest memories were made while spending time with her cousin, Trudy, and Trudy's family, who held a special place in her heart.

Throughout her life, Dotty enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She was an avid fan of professional wrestling and Western movies and television shows. She also loved crocheting and spent countless hours putting together jigsaw puzzles, a pastime that brought her great joy. Dotty especially treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, Peppy.

Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nadine Starr, and her brother, Timothy Starr.

She leaves behind family members and friends who loved her dearly and will cherish the memories they shared with her.
