Dorene Bernice Chamberlain

Dorene Bernice Chamberlain, 73, of Homer, NE, passed away surrounded by her family on April 4, 2023 at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Monday, April 10^th at 1:00 p.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Omaha Valley Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Dorene was born on June 30, 1949 in Denison, IA to Merlin and Wardene (Paulsen) Overhue.  She graduated from Schleswig, IA high school and was united in marriage to Wayne R. Chamberlain on September 7, 1979.  Dorene worked at Sugar Daddy’s Sports Bar & Grill in North Sioux City, SD for over 13 years.  She worked all of her life taking care of her family.  Dorene loved her cabin at Lewis and Clark Lake, where she would enjoy the lake and fishing.  She also enjoyed singing karaoke and participating in craft fairs.  Dorene loved her dog Nella and watching all of the birds and wildlife at the cabin.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Michael (Sara) Chamberlain, Homer, NE, Theresa Prine, Homer, NE, step-son, Robert Chamberlain, Pender, NE, step-daughters: Staci (Robert) Pridie, Akron, IA, and Nicole (Jason) Johs, Chicago, IL; special friend, David Lendt, South Sioux City, NE; siblings: Frank (Robi) Overhue, Rick (Cindy) Overhue, all of Glenwood, IA; Virgene (Jim) Ryan, Yankton, SD, Connie Overhue, Minneapolis, MN, Darlene Overhue, Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Timathey, Madison, Aerial, Alivea, and Aryanna Chamberlain, Nick and Jordan Prine, Wryder, Camdyn and Trella Chamberlain, Marissa, Kyler and Shaylee Prine; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Alvin Overhue, and granddaughter, Kaylee, and beloved dog Teddy.
