Donna Rae Studley

Donna Rae Studley, 61 passed away on February 2nd, 2023 at her home in Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on March 15th, 1961 in Lead, South Dakota to parents Betty and Clarence Carver. She grew up in Spokane, Washington until moving to Sioux City, Iowa - where she attended North High School and worked many jobs in the food and service industry over the years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Deanna Rae Studley, sister Sherry Carver, and brother Wesley Carver.

She is survived by three children and one granddaughter, James (Holly) Studley and their daughter Natalie of Ankeny, Iowa; Robert Studley of Sioux City, Iowa; and Destini Schmit of Rochester, New York. Her surviving siblings are Clarence Jr. (Thelma) Carver, Stanley (Patricia) Carver, Susan (Larry) Rubida, and Sandra (Michael) Martin along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her ex-husband James Studley.

Donna loved nature and animals, particularly watching and feeding squirrels and birds at her home. She enjoyed caring for many pets throughout the years, including cats (Diamond and Cheddar); dogs (Penny and Joey), a leopard gecko, and even a piglet. 

She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Wheel of Fortune, and true crime shows. Completing puzzles, gardening, and crafting miniature furniture were some of her hobbies.

She had a great love for her kids and family and worked hard all her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Private services have already been held at Meyer Brothers Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life service at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover expenses for Robert and Destini can be made out to James Studley and sent to PO BOX 3005 in Sioux City, Iowa, 51102.
