Donna was born on November 28, 1936 to Darrel and Lyla Smith in Sioux City, IA via the first c-section in the Methodist hospital.  She grew up in Hornick, IA and graduated from Hornick High School.  She went on to attend Wayne State College for a year.  Donna then began working at New York Life.  It was there that she met her husband on a blind date.  On May 9, 1958 she married Myron “Mike” Anderson in Hornick, IA.  In 1993 Donna and Mike began working at Winnavegas when it opened, becoming some of their first employees. Donna worked there for over 15 years.

Donna enjoyed bowling, starting as a teenager and up until 2019. During her bowling career, Donna and her family traveled all over the country: from Iowa to Florida, Las Vegas and Reno for nationals and various tournaments. She bowled in multiple leagues a week, even bowling a 299 game.  She also enjoyed going to the camper, her pet companions, and golfing on Monday mornings at Sun Valley including lunch and playing cards with friends. On her free time you could find her pushing buttons, as she called it, at the local casinos. She sold Avon for over 30 years and loved to travel, especially going on cruises. Donna also looked forward to her yearly luncheons with her good friends.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Scott (Sandy) Anderson, Andrea (Roy) Robinson; 4 grandchildren: Ben A., Chase R., Taryn R. and Sam A.; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and Aunt Melva Smith.
