Donna R. Hindman

Donna Rae Hindman, 91 of Sioux City passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025. A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family is hosting an open house celebration of her life, this Saturday, September 20th from 2-5pm at her family home.

Donna was born the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Brusseau) Dagle on September 24, 1933 in Jefferson, South Dakota. She moved to Sioux City with her family in her youth. Donna met the love of life, Ronald Sorenson, while working at the 4th Street Theatre. They wed on October 27, 1951. Together they raised four daughters. Ronald passed away in 2000. She later married Joe Hobbs in 2003. They only had a short time together before Joe passed in 2006. She met Orvall Hindman in 2016 and they married soon after. Orvall passed in 2023.

Donna worked downtown at Kresge’s and also for K-Mart for many years. She then became a lunch lady at Holy Cross/Blessed Sacrament School for almost 20 years until her retirement in 2019.

She enjoyed thrifting and searching for treasures at Goodwill. She lived in the same house for 70 years and she took great pride in her home.

Donna will be remembered as a beautiful, strong, loyal , fun loving partner, mother and friend.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Dan) Lenzen, Doreen Labarge, and Karen (Gannon) Preisser; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; daughter, Linda; and sister, Darlene.

Donna will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
