Donald W. Rosenow

Donald W. Rosenow, 78, of Sioux City, IA passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at Morningside Baptist Church. Visitation is one hour prior to the service starting. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Donald William Rosenow was born June 21, 1944 to Ernest and Tracy (Hartsuiker) in Norwalk, CA. He attended Central High School graduating in 1962. After graduation, Don enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged in 1966. Don married his best friend Debra Smith on March 18, 1996 in Sioux City, IA. To this marriage Don gained two amazing bonus children: Melissa and Josh. Don owned several businesses throughout his life. He worked mostly at Sears as Sales Manager before he retired. Don became bored during retirement so he decided to work at Wal-Mart. If he wasn’t working, he was enjoying time with is friends for coffee and conversation. They dubbed themselves the Old Geezers Club. He was involved in the Toys for Tots, American Legion Honor Guard and helped run the bingo table for the retired marines at the Woodbury Co. Fair. You could always find Don outside fishing, going to the Sioux City Symphony and wine tastings. Don was known as being a child at heart and being the best papa. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Debra Rosenow of Sioux City, one daughter, Melissa (Drew) Dekok of Sioux City, one son, Josh Smith of Sioux City, 10 grandchildren: Blake Lander, Aaliyah Engelbrecht, Brianna Dekok, Kennedy Dekok, Asher Dekok, Korbin Dekok, Pieper Dekok, Hanna Smith, Kimberly Smith, Joshua Smith and one great-grandchild, Lyla. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry Rosenow.
