Donald L. Comstock

Donald L. Comstock, 97, of Sioux City, IA passed away February 20, 2023 at a local hospital.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Avenue.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Private burial will take place at a later date at Graceland Park Cemetery.  The service will be live streamed at http://youtube.com/live/57HisM--YRQ

Donald was born on February 3, 1926 in Sioux City to LeRoy and Edith (Morris) Comstock.  After high school, Donald entered into the United States Navy where he served before being honorably discharged.   He was united in marriage to Marjorie Brooks on January 24, 1964 in Sioux City.  They lived in Sioux City before moving to Phoenix for 15 years.  Together they enjoyed traveling and would winter in Phoenix, AZ once they moved back to Sioux City.  Donald began his career as a machinist and retired as an Inspector from Sioux Tools. He was a member of Glad Tidings Lighthouse Church in South Sioux City for over 25 years.  Donald loved to golf and sing.  He was very musical, playing his own instruments and recording several records.  He loved spending time with his family and was loved and adored by all who knew him, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Garry (Bonnie) Comstock, Sioux City, Jim Comstock, Phoenix, AZ, Bob (Karen) Comstock, Sioux City, Howard (Candy) Comstock, Sioux City; Donald Allen Comstock, Jr., Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and 2 brothers.
