Donald L. Bourret, 83, of Sioux City passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024.

A Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Sharing of Memories at 7:00 P.M., Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.  Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Don was born May 11, 1940, in Sioux City, the son of Charles and Masel “Max” (Thompson) Bourret.  He graduated from Central High School.  Don married Donna Taylor Leigh on June 2, 1974, in Sioux City.

Don worked as a paint salesman man for many years.  His true passion was music and he was a drummer in many bands, most notably, The Velaires.  He was an active member of the community: coaching little league, a member of the Abu Bekr Shrine, Cosmopolitan, and Business Leaders.

Survivors include his current wife, Donna Bourret; children:  Shawn L. Bourret of Denver, CO, Darwyn (Michelle) Bourret of Aurora, CO, Russell (Becky) Leigh of Sioux City, and Robin E. VanDonselaar of Sioux City; grandchildren:  Tayvia and Tyanna Bourret of Colorado, Boston (Kaylee) VanDonselaar of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sammy Seitzinger of Sioux City; one great granddaughter and one great grandson in Colorado, and one great-grandson on the way; and a sister Shirley (Ronnie) Zellers.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Darrel and Dwayne Bourret.
