Dolly Parker, 87 of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at her residence.  A Private Family Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Witte officiating. Interment will follow at Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, Nebraska. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Dolly was born on June 11,1936 in South Sioux City, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Kline) Perkins as well as her stepmom, Louise Perkins who raised her when her mom had passed at a young age.  She attended Crawford High School and at a later date completed her GED.

Dolly lived in South Sioux City and Crawford, NE.  South Sioux City was where she spent most of her life.  She did live in Colorado, and Chicago for a short period of time.  Dolly was dedicated to providing for her family by working at IBP for over 20 years.  She worked one of the most challenging jobs at IBP as a rib saw processor.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting and sewing.  One year she made sure each grandchild received a homemade quilt.  Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren and they filled her days and made many memories and loved them dearly.

Those left to celebrate those cherished memories are her six surviving children: Frank Parker of Woodstock, GA; Leonard Parker of Sioux City, IA; Tammy (Rick) Roper of Montague, TX; Joseph (Donna) Parker of Westminster, MD; Patty (Ellen) Houha of Portland, Oregon and Penny Parker (Kevin Johnson) of South Sioux City, NE.

Dolly is also survived by 11 grandkids: Joshua (Katie) Parker of Sioux City, IA; Amber (Eduard) Stoupa of Woodstock, GA; Carrie Parker of Gainesville, TX; Amanda Titus of NE; Sarah Parker of Sioux City, IA; Rachel (Andrew) Munoz of Severna Park, MD, Christina (Donald) Wakefield of South Sioux City, NE; Jeannie (Adam) Schnoes of South Sioux City, NE; Stephanie (Jared) Mackenzie of Plano, TX; Brady Parker of South Sioux City, NE; John Johnson of South Sioux City, NE, 19 great grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother Brian “Butch” Perkins, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and daughter in laws: Jeannie, Jo, Shelley, and Great Granddaughter Charity Mae Parker.

Assisting the family for the Funeral Service as casket bearers will be Leonard Parker, Joshua Parker, Brady Parker, John Johnson, Jeannie Schnoes, and Don Wakefield.
