Diane Kaye Heliker, a devoted educator who touched the lives of many through her passion for teaching, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at her residence in Sioux City, IA. She was born on September 2, 1947, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Dwight and Ella Heliker.

Diane dedicated an impressive 36 years of her life to teaching business courses at Battle Creek - Ida Grove High School in Ida Grove, IA. Her commitment to education was exemplary, and in recognition of her outstanding work, she received several prestigious awards. Diane was honored with the "Outstanding Business Educator" Award for Area 12, the "Outstanding Educational Leadership" Award from BCIG School District, and the "Dedicated Service to Iowa Business Education" Award.

Her journey in education began after graduating from Central High School in 1965 and later obtaining her degree from Wayne State College in 1969. Diane's impact as an educator extended far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting legacy on her students and colleagues.

Described as a wonderful educator with a deep love for teaching, Diane found joy in spending time with her close family and embraced the beauty of summers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Heliker, in 1981, and her mother Ella (Hansen) Heliker in 2020.

Abiding by Diane's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned. Meyer Brothers Funeral Homes is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to: Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, OABCIG School District for their Business Department, or a charity of choice.
