Diana L. Montgomery, a resident of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at a Sioux City Hospital. As per her wishes, her cremation has been conducted, and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Born on March 8, 1945, in Livingston, Montana, Diana was the daughter of Robert and Mabel (McKee) Goodson. She graduated from Custer County High School in Miles City, Montana, in 1963. Diana married Robert “Bob” Montgomery on June 5, 1998, in Elk Point, South Dakota. She held various accounting positions at various businesses and locations until her retirement, during which she transitioned to homemaking.
Diana was a devoted and cherished mother and grandmother. She cherished the opportunity to visit with her family whenever possible. She engaged in various crafts, including crochet, knitting, beadwork, and quilting. She relished family game nights and puzzle-solving activities. Holidays with family and friends were particularly cherished. Diana possessed a unique and endearing personality, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Diana is survived by her husband, Bob Montgomery, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; children, Larry (Margo) Vetch of Warsaw, Missouri, Mashelle (Brett) Barker of Columbus, Montana, and Christina (Kurt) Lambing of Sioux City, Iowa; twin brother, David Goodson, of Livingston, Montana; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and stepchildren and her beloved pet cat, Katrina.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert (Bob) Goodson.
