Dennis Keith Jorgensen passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024 at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City, Iowa.
Dennis was born August 13, 1947. He attended school in Sioux City, Iowa, and graduated from East High in 1965. He worked at various places throughout Sioux City, but his most notorious jobs were at Zenith and Cloverleaf Cold Storage. On January 20, 1971 Dennis married Sandra Ellis and they welcomed three children: Kimberly, Steven, and Todd. After retiring from Cloverleaf Cold Storage in 2013 he worked as a bus attendant for the Sioux City Schools. He worked there until 2019 when he retired for good.
Denny was a lover of all sports. He could often be found at Hubbard Park playing and coaching FastPitch Softball for the team Jack Penny. He was a diehard Iowa State Cyclones fan and had been a season ticket holder since 1974. He was always up for tailgating and a competitive game of cornhole. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events and theater performances. He was also an avid card player, and taught his children, grandchildren, and many friends how to play cribbage.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra, his sons Steve (Jen) Jorgensen and Todd (Holly) Jorgensen, his grandchildren Addison, Haley, Lauryn, Cameron, and Reagan, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Maxine, his uncle and aunt, Claude and Arby June McAlpine, and his daughter Kimberly.
