Dennis Eugene Hilburn

Dennis Eugene ”Denny” Hilburn, 71 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025 at his home, comforted by family. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with opportunities for friends and family to share memories. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with Military Graveside Honors offered by the United States Air Force. Denny was born on September 2, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa to Duane L and Dorothy M. (Holbrook) Hilburn. Following his education, Denny joined the United States Airforce National Guard in March of 1972, and received his honorable discharge six years later in March of 1978, while all serving in the Sioux City area. He was a mechanic for the City of Sioux City for over 25 years.

Denny enjoyed turning wrenches, not only as a career, but being raised, he worked beside his father to restore collector automobiles. The term “Mr. Fix-It” referred to Denny. He was also a collector of toys, models, trains, and various other items, that gave him great joy. His greatest joy was being with friends, and especially, family!

Denny is survived by his wife Krista Hilburn of Sioux City; daughter Kaitlynn Hilburn and her son Sam Hilburn.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle in 2014, and brothers Dwight and David Hilburn.
