Deloris June Whitehill, 97, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
Deloris June, the daughter of John N. and Nora J. (Hoag) Baity, was born on September 17, 1926, in Alberta, MN. During June’s younger years, her family lived in several Midwest communities until they moved to Sioux City during her teenage years. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City with the Class of 1944.
On February 14, 1945, June was united in marriage Floyd R. Osborn. She was a homemaker and stayed very busy raising their nine children. June and Floyd later divorced.
On October 26, 1996, June married Chuck Whitehill in Sioux City. After their marriage, they moved to Park Rapids, MN and moved back to Sioux City in 2001 due to Chuck’s declining health. Chuck passed away in 2004.
June enjoyed gardening, reading, doing crossword puzzles, going to the Senior Center, and trips to the casino. Above all, she enjoyed playing games with her family especially Cribbage and Upwards.
She is survived by her children: David A. Osborn (Mary Ann) of Sioux City, IA, Douglas G. Osborn (Connie) of Newport News, VA, Donna J. Johnson, Nancy A. Harbeck (Bruce) of Omaha, NE, Norilee K. Church of Denver, CO, Julie E. Eaton (Steve) of Sioux City, Patti J. DeMoss (Dallas) of Sioux City, and Duane S. Osborn (Diane) of Sioux City; one sister, Evelyn L. Fischer; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children’s father, Floyd R. Osborn, her husband, Chuck Whitehall, daughter, Carol L. Pirozek, son-in-law, Gary Johnson, and one brother, Robert Baity.
