Delores Mae Visser, daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Dickman) Huck, was born on September 2, 1929, in rural Melvin, Iowa. She peacefully passed away on April 23, 2024, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Delores's journey through life was marked with love, dedication, and a deep sense of family values. Delores grew up in the area of her birth until her junior year when the family moved to Sheldon. After graduating from Sheldon High School, she started working as a waitress where she met her beloved husband, Derk "Dick" Visser. Their marriage on May 2, 1949, was the foundation of a beautiful family with three children. Delores and Dick lived in Sheldon until 1974 when they moved to Sioux City for Dick's job. Delores's commitment to her loved ones extended beyond the home as she worked at JCPenney Department Store both in Sheldon and later in Sioux City until her retirement.

A compassionate and nurturing individual, Delores prioritized family above all else. She found joy in hosting family dinners and creating lasting memories with those she held dear. In her leisure time, Delores enjoyed gardening, knitting, needlepoint and many other crafts. She cherished moments spent at their cabin at the Lakes.

Delores Mae Visser is survived by her children: Debra Hafits of Sioux City, IA, David (Tracy) Visser of Peoria, AZ, and Dennis (Robin) Visser of Littleton, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Andrea Visser, Justin (Amy) Visser, Carrie Jo (Kendall) Clemmons, Amanda Visser, Drew Visser, and Hannah Visser; as well as five great-grandchildren: Taylor Visser, Chloe Visser, Elena Visser, Elliott Clemmons, and Rylee Clemmons. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Evelyn McCarthy of South Sioux City, NE; along with many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
