After graduating from Sheldon High School, she started working as a waitress where she met her beloved husband, Derk "Dick" Visser. Their marriage on May 2, 1949, was the foundation of a beautiful family with three children. Delores and Dick lived in Sheldon until 1974 when they moved to Sioux City for Dick's job.
