Deirdre Ann Lennon

January 30, 1942 — March 2, 2023

Deirdre Ann Lennon (“Dee”), 81, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away March 2, 2023.  The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. She was born in Pierre, South Dakota, to Gail and Genevieve Fish on January 30, 1942. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with her younger siblings, a brother and 2 sisters. 

Dee graduated from Saint Joseph Mercy School of Nursing of Sioux City, Iowa in 1963.  She spent her initial years as an OB/GYN nurse until she took time off to raise her 2 children and when she returned to nursing, Dee was an assessment nurse for chemical dependency.

Dee was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lennon on June 5, 1965, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The two raised their family in Sioux City, Iowa. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and always looked forward to visiting her grandkids.  Dee loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, attending softball games and concerts. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; children, Patrick (Jinky) Lennon of Tempe, AZ and Kim (Zane) Lennon of Gillette, WY; grandchildren: 2 grandchildren Cameron and Channing Lennon, two sisters; Ronnette Fish and Shelly Leither (Mike Monson), as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Anthony Fish, her aunt Henrietta Bendt, and granddaughter Caitlyn Lennon.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on March 5, 2023.  Visitation with the family will be from 2:00-5:00 pm with prayer vigil starting at 5:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
