In Loving Memory of Deborah “Debs” Ann Hanson (Harper)
Deborah ”Debs” Ann Hanson (Harper), age 77, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 with her loving care provider, Sissy Crawford, by her side. Born on March 12, 1948. Debs brought warmth, wit, and wisdom to everyone she met. She was an avid Iowa College sports, fishing and bagpipe connoisseur.
She is remembered for her unwavering strength, fierce independence, yet endless compassion. Those who knew her, even briefly, were touched by her. To those she loved, she was a fierce protector, a loyal friend, and a constant source of encouragement. Her presence was powerful, her convictions clear, and her love unconditional. Her presence will be missed.
Debs is survived by: her niece Deb LaDue and her nephews Phil King, Jay LaDue, Corey LaDue, stepson Scott Harper, and her grandchildren: Jackie Parker, Janine Harper, Alexis Harper and all their families as well as many cousins & friends. She is now reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Duncan Harper; her stepsons John and Mark Harper; her sisters Lynne (Hanson) LaDue and Geraldine (Hanson) King; her niece Kirsten (LaDue) Kleinsmith and her loving parents Gunnar and Geraldine (Hanlon) Hanson.

Burial will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 9am at the Floyd Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.
