Obituary

Deanna Klosterman, 88, died Sunday, October 25th, at Floyd Senior Living in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Visitation will be November 11, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Klosterman, the former Deanna Noyes, was born October 31, 1937, in Sioux City, to the parents of DeForrest and Mabel Noyes. She attended Roosevelt Elementary School where she met her husband in kindergarten. Their friendship continued through graduation from Central High School in 1955. After graduation Deanna began working for the law firm of Sherman McKinley while her fiancé, Miles V. Klosterman, served in the United States Navy. When he returned to Sioux City they married on June 22, 1957. To this union two children were born, Kristopher Miles and Kandace Mae. The couple lived in Sioux City their entire married life. Mr. Klosterman died July 28, 2023, in Sioux City.

When her children were born Mrs. Klosterman became a homemaker while her children were growing up. She volunteered much of her time outside of the home supporting her children's school activities, her church, and Sioux City hospitals. She was an avid gardener, excellent cook, and always enjoyed sharing garden produce, baked goods, and recipes with others. She and Miles just enjoyed being together whether it be gardening, canning, motorcycling, camping, fishing, spending time at their cabin in Minnesota, or helping classmates organize Central High School class reunions.

She was a member of Community of Christ Church and Women's Circle. For many years she was in charge of the wedding receptions and funeral lunches at the church. She took pride in working with the families involved so as to help make these days special and memorable for the families she served.

Deanna was a fabulous outdoorsman's wife. If Miles was going fishing or hunting, Deanna would get up early with Miles and make him a big breakfast and pack him lunch. When Miles went hunting in West Virgina with family friends, Deanna would travel with Miles to keep him company, enjoy the scenery, and make lifetime friendships with his hunting family. When Miles came home with his catch of fish, flock of pheasants, or prized deer, she was always ready and willing to help clean or package and freeze whatever he brought. She loved cooking Miles' game and was always looking for new and different recipes to try.

Survivors include her son Kristopher Klosterman and wife Alicia of Pierson, IA; daughter Kandi Vande Berg and husband Mark of Harlan, IA; granddaughter Katie Shively and husband Brett of Ankeny, IA; grandson Kyler Vande Berg and wife Sarah of Omaha, NE; step granddaughter Christina Loera and Maya of Sioux City; great grandchildren Brynlee and Kinzlee Shively, Callum Vande Berg, Fernando Alferez and Lesley, Diego Alferez, Aliana Nolasco, and step great-great granddaughter Zaira Alferez; sister-in-law Judy Noyes of Sioux City and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Miles, parents DeForrest and Mabel Noyes, brother DeForrest Noyes II, and sister-in-law Beverly Nelson.
