David E. Urban

David E. Urban, 71, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020.  Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  

David was born the son of Louis and Francis (Stepan) Urban on July 17, 1949 in Cresco, Iowa.  He graduated from Protivin High School and later Briar Cliff College. David married Linda Phipps on November 1, 1970 in Sioux City, Iowa.  They spent a few years in Fort Dodge and Charles City before settling in Sioux City in 1976.

David owned and operated Urban Window Treatment for 11 years with his family. He then became a real estate appraiser until he retired.

David enjoyed singing and playing guitar, hanging out with friends, golfing, camping, and wintering with his wife in Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Urban of Sioux City; Michelle (Kraig) Roupe of Sioux City and Nikole (Wayne) Avers of Gulfport, Florida; brother, Al (Rick) Urban of Kansas City; sister, Angie (Leonard) Kappes of Ridgeway, Iowa; sister-in-law, Shirley Urban of Charles City, Iowa; and grandchildren, Maxwell and Theodore. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Larry.
