David Lee Sharp

David Lee Sharp, 85 of Sioux City passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 after a recent battle with cancer. Abiding by his wishes cremation has taken place. A private celebration of his life will take place with his family.

David was born the son of Ray and Lela (Garrison) Sharp on November 27, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Central High School. David married Carole Limoges on March 14, 1980. They made their home in Sioux City.

David was a lieutenant for the Sioux City Fire Department where he served for most of his life.  

He enjoyed golf, hockey, hunting, and exercising daily. He also loved his dogs. David and Carole enjoyed traveling together.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

David is survived by his three children from his first marriage, Becky (Doug) Jessen, Terry (Sandy) Sharp, and Brian (Rayleen) Sharp; stepdaughter, Brigitte (Steve) Mann; brother, Larry (Linda) Sharp; nephew, Ritchie Mackey; niece, Louanne (Doc) Zortman; and several other nieces and nephews; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia; and brothers, Dick, Wayne, and Norman.
