David Parks

David Parks, 61 of Dakota City, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Dakota City Firehall with Reverend Russell Senstad of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Refreshments will follow. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.

David was born on February 12, 1964 in Sioux City, Iowa to Bill and Sandra Parks. He completed his education at East High School in Sioux City, graduating with the Class of 1982. David grew up with his parents owning Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, and he went on to manage multiple restaurants until starting Gateway 2.0h in Dakota City where he spent everyday doing what he loved: cooking and telling jokes!

David’s greatest joy was found in spending time with his best friend, and granddaughter, Gracelyn. He enjoyed watching her games, playing golf, and truthfully, just anything with her. His sense of humor, and great personality will be truly missed.

David is survived by his daughter McKenzie Parks, granddaughter Gracelyn, sister Stephanie Divis (Bob Johnson), niece Jenn Divis, and nephew Jeff Divis.

David was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Tony Parks.

Honorary Bearers for David’s service will be Kevin Rogers, Darwin Kluver, Rob Grandgenett, and Rich Korthuis.
