David L. Honeck, 73 of Sioux City passed away Monday, August 3, 2026. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held. David was appreciative of St Croix Hospice and Visiting Angels who cared for him in his final months. It is asked that all memorials be directed to St Croix Hospice.

 David was born in Fort Dodge Iowa on December 10th, 1952 and was the son of Leon and Frieda (Pagel) Honeck. He grew up on the family farm in Early, Iowa. He graduated from Crest land Community Schools and then completed undergraduate studies at Morningside University before obtaining his law degree from the University of Denver. David cherished his time at Morningside. He participated in football and track. In addition, he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi and built lifelong friendships with many of his brothers who became like family to him.

David spent most of his life in the Denver area practicing law. He moved back to Storm Lake to take care of his parents and later moved to Sioux City.

He enjoyed going fishing in Canada and going to supper club with his buddies.

David is survived by several close friends who will miss his kind spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
