Darlene L. Tague, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Winterset, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Riverside Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Darlene was born on October 10, 1932 in Sioux City, to John and Irene (Pike) Thompson. She was a Sioux City resident throughout her life and graduated among the first graduating class at Heelan High School.
On December 8, 1951 she married Oliver “Gene” Tague in Sioux City. Oliver passed away on December 29, 2004.
She was a longtime member of Riverside Lutheran Church. In her free time, Darlene enjoyed her bowling league, quilting, and attending church services and activities.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Phillips Heaton (Dave), Marlene Colt (Terry), Lin Tague, Rita Allard, and Jean Thompson (Dave); grandchildren: Christoper Phillips (Amy), Kevin Phillips (Ashley), Scotty Colt (Allison), Marshall Tague (Abby), Colin Tague (Kara), Myles Tague (Sarah), Andrea Geary (Shawn), Cassandra Schwartz (Tim), Chad Thompson, Allison White (David), Kelsey Dolan (Tyler), Katie Munro (Sean) and Andrew Thompson (Christine); many great-grandchildren; siblings: John Thompson (Judy) and Kay Uptagrafft.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; a daughter, Donna Tague; an infant son, Leonard Tague; sister, Delores Merrill; brothers-in-law, Don Uptagrafft and Bill Merrill; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Tague.
