Darius N. Smith Jr.

Darius N. Smith Jr., 63, of Sioux City, IA, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at Countryside Nursing Home in Sioux City. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Darius was born July 17, 1959 to Darius Sr. and Jean (Porsch) Smith in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City North High School where he graduated in 1978. Darius was a life long resident of Sioux City and worked at the Stockyards. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds, IA. Darius enjoyed playing softball, assisting with coaching little league, running lights for his best friend’s band, dancing, fishing and spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his two sisters, Gina (Steve) Hasler of Sioux City, Jana Millers of Presten, IA, two nieces, Renee Hasler of Sioux City, Jessie Miller of Johnston, IA, one aunt, Joy Porsch, two uncles, Neal Porsch, Gale (Ha) Porsch and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Darius Smith Sr., grandparents, Harry and Loretta Porsch, several aunts and uncles.
