The date was Sept. 2, 1953, an angel was delivered to JoAnn Barrett Miille and Darrell Millie in Sioux City, lowa. Darcy Renee Miille started her journey to make this world a better place for everyone she met.

She was educated in the Sioux City School system, graduating from East High School in 1971. After graduation she started working on creating her family. On January 26, 1973 she married her high school sweetheart, Russ Basalyga and their family began. Their first born was a son, Jason, followed by 2 Princesses Jill and Jodi. As the children grew they all traveled and enjoyed many athletic events that the children participated in. They also attended many East High and University of lowa games.

She was a Disney Nut and worked at the Disney Store which helped them visit the resorts at Orlando many times. Later she worked at Delta Airlines and she and Russ traveled to other unknown spots. She cherished all the family holidays.

To her delight, she helped mold her first five Grandchildren and then got to know her last 2 Grandsons who live in Wisconsin.

After the death of her sister Cindy, her health started to decrease. This long battle ended on January, 30, 2026 with family by her bedside. She is survived by husband Russell Basalyga; daughter Jill, husband Beau Monell and Johnathon, Alexandria; daughter Jodi and children Brooklyn Basalyga & Cooper Grillet all of Sioux City; son Jason and Jessica Basalyga with daughter Jaiden & sons William and Alexander of Dickeyville, WS; sisters Linda and Mike Rose of Thornton CO., & Stacy and Wayne Mercural of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, JoAnn and Darrell Miille, and sister Cindy Holmes.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
