Danny Roger Hegg

Danny Roger Hegg, 69, of Sioux City, IA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 11, 2024, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life Service for Dan will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m.

Dan was born January 14, 1955, in Sioux City. He was raised in Sioux City by his parents William and Norma Hegg and was a graduate of East High School in 1973. After high school, he started working at Sioux City Foundry.  Dan was blessed with one daughter, Melissa. Throughout the years, he worked various jobs including Siouxland Mental Health Center and Long Lines Center until his retirement.

Dan’s hobbies included fishing and watching sports. He was a faithful member of Morningside Lutheran Church.  Dan enjoyed hours spent at the Friendship House with Atlas and many friends.

He is survived by his daughter Melissa Riesberg of Carroll, IA; three grandchildren: Rebecca (Zack) Davis of Carroll, IA, Sarah Riesberg (significant other Patrick Coburn) of Newell, IA, and Tyler Riesberg of Carroll, IA; two great grandchildren: Taelynn Davis and Eleanor Davis; three siblings: Jeff (Celeste) Hegg of Florida, Nancy (Michael) Hefner of Johnston, IA, and Lisa (Rusty) Soole of Sioux City, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
