Daniel D. Yates

Daniel D. Yates, 81, of Hinton, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.  Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at a later date in Illinois.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Dan was born on April 4, 1940 in Springfield, IL to Virgil and Ruby (Cottingham) Yates.  Dan worked for Standard Concrete Pipe (Springfield IL) for 21 years giving him the experience to go on with his employment at Besser Company (Sioux City IA) traveling the world installing and training on the product he knew so well - concrete pipe.

He was united in marriage to Willa McCoy on November 29, 1968 in Decatur, IL.  Dan loved his grandkids, golf, reading and working in the yard.  If there was anything that needed repaired or installed in our home, he could do it...  

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Willa Yates, Hinton; children: Daniel Yates, Glenarm IL, Russ Castles, Colorado Springs, CO, Kendra Deane, Athens IL, Shayne Yates, Hinton IA.  Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Virgil and Ruby Yates, son Kevin Yates, sister, Sandra Branham and two brothers Gary and Mike Yates.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations in Dan’s name to your local Humane Society.
